1. Agreement
By using the TRU Installation website (truinstallation.com), booking a measurement visit, or accepting an estimate or final quote from us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our services.
2. Online estimates are not quotes
The instant estimate calculator on our pricing page gives a good-faith estimate based on the square footage and add-ons you enter. It is not a binding quote. Your final quote is issued in writing after our on-site measurement visit and may differ based on the actual conditions of your space (e.g., subfloor issues, prep work, access).
3. Measurement visit fee
We charge a fee for the professional on-site measurement visit, payable at booking through Stripe. The fee is non-refundable except when:
- TRU Installation cancels the appointment;
- Your address turns out to be outside our service area;
- You cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled visit.
When you proceed with installation, the measurement fee may be credited toward your final installation invoice at our discretion.
4. Scope of work
The work we perform is limited to what is described in your signed final quote. Anything outside that scope — additional rooms, unforeseen subfloor repairs, hazardous material abatement, etc. — requires a written change order before we proceed.
5. Customer responsibilities
- Provide safe, reasonable access to the work area on the scheduled install dates.
- Disconnect and move (or arrange to move) electronics, valuables, and breakables.
- Notify us of any known asbestos, mold, lead, or other hazardous conditions before work begins.
- Maintain interior conditions (temperature, humidity) within manufacturer-recommended ranges before, during, and after install.
6. Workmanship warranty
We back our installation labor with a workmanship warranty, the terms of which are stated in your final quote. Manufacturer warranties for materials are separate and provided by the product manufacturer. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water intrusion, subfloor movement beyond industry tolerances, pets, or normal wear.
7. Payment terms
Final invoices are due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late balances may accrue interest at the maximum rate allowed by California law. Returned or disputed payments may result in pause of work and additional fees.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the services or your use of the website is limited to the amount you paid us for the project giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Website disclaimer
Content on our website is for general informational purposes only and is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that the calculator, availability calendar, or any other tool is error-free or continuously available.
10. License & insurance
TRU Installation is a licensed, bonded, and insured California flooring contractor. Our current license number is shown in our website footer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles or Ventura County, California.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site or services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
